Aurum Equity Partners to Invest US$ 400M in Hyderabad Data Center
Plans for a US$ 400 million investment have been revealed by Aurum Equity Partners LLP, to invest in phases to develop a next-generation, AI-powered green data center in Hyderabad, India. This decision follows discussions with A Revanth Reddy, Chief Minister, Government of Telangana, and D Sridhar Babu, IT and Industries Minister, Government of Telangana.
The new investment is a marked increase from the company’s earlier commitment of US$ 50 million. The upcoming data center will have a 100-megawatt (MW) capacity, strategically planned to meet the needs of hyperscalers and enterprises.
Venkat Bussa, CEO and Chairman, Aurum Equity Partners LLP, explained that the data center aims to bridge the digital divide between urban and rural areas. To achieve this, the company will improve access to important government services such as e-Seva, e-Payment, and e-Education.
Speaking on job opportunities, Reddy expressed enthusiasm, pointing out the project’s potential to create several job openings in the city. Highlighting the project’s role, Babu praised the development, outlining its ability to reaffirm the city’s status as a data center hub and its emphasis on AI and sustainable green energy.
