AGI Japan To Invest INR 200 Crore in Hyderabad-based Standard Glass Lining Technology
Japanese firm Asahi Glassplant Inc (AGI Japan) is set to invest INR 200 crore in Hyderabad-based Standard Glass Lining Technology Ltd, securing a minority stake along with GL HAKKO and its affiliates.
AGI Japan is exploring additional investments in businesses related to the Standard Group, focusing on electromechanical products such as mechanical seals, barrier isolators, and valves. The collaboration aims to facilitate Standard Glass’s entry into the Japanese market through private label arrangements and co-branding initiatives.
Yasuyuki Ikeda, CEO, AGI Japan, already serving as a Non-executive Director, Standard Glass, contributes to the global expansion strategy. This investment aligns with Standard Glass’s recent establishment of Standard Flora (P) Ltd for quality PTFE-lined parts and fittings and the ongoing construction of a state-of-the-art glass equipment manufacturing facility in Telangana, covering a 36-acre site in Bothapally. The facility will boast advanced machinery, including welding robots and semi-automated cutting and bending equipment.
