ACMA Hosts Farm Equipment Expo 2024
The Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) successfully hosted the 3rd edition of the ACMA Farm Equipment & Implements Localization Expo on May 21, 2024, in Ludhiana.
Over 60 prominent exhibitors participated, which attracted dedicated business-to-business participants and industry stakeholders. The expo emphasized the importance of localization in the Indian agricultural industry, showcasing innovative farm equipment and implements.
The event was inaugurated by Dr A S Mittal, President, TMA and Vice Chairman, Sonalika Group. Leading manufacturers like Subros Ltd, JK Fenner, Tata Autocomp Systems Ltd, and Steelbird International showcased technologies designed to boost agricultural productivity and sustainability. Vinnie Mehta, Director General, ACMA, highlighted the overwhelming response and commitment to developing a robust, self-reliant supply chain in the tractor and implements industry.
India’s farm machinery sector is valued at US$ 16.73 bn in 2024 and is projected to reach US$ 25.15 bn by 2029. The association aims to reduce dependence on imports and enhance export competitiveness through localization and government schemes. Future editions of the expo will seek greater participation from international Agricultural original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to promote the capabilities of the country’s domestic industry for exports. The event saw attendance from major OEMs, including Mahindra Farm, Sonalika Group, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, and MRF Tyres India.
