Doing our part

HITEX cares about its community and environment. To ensure that we can help our community and environment, we have launched the following initiatives so far.

Restoring nature’s glory

The Kotha Cheruvu Lake is a precious water body located within HITEX's perimeter. Unfortunately, due to massive urbanization, the lake has been deprived of its original charm. Sewage from nearby residential areas has been flowing into the lake, polluting its surroundings. In order to restore the Kotha Cheruvu Lake to its past glory, HITEX and Ace Urban Infocity have come together to initiate a lake rejuvenation and conservation project. As part of our corporate social responsibility, we are striving to revive the lake and set a benchmark for similar projects that can be adopted by administrative bodies across India.

The lake restoration project aims at:

  • Reducing pollution levels in the lake.
  • Creating a better habitat for aquatic organisms.
  • Improving the quality of water through filtration systems.
  • Providing recreational space for local residents.
  • Providing ecotourism opportunities.

Educating the underprivileged

HITEX has taken over Khanamet's Mandal Praja Parishad Government Primary School as part of the state government's plan to help the poor. Over 160 students in grades 1–4 attend the “Education for All” school. Issues with the building’s wiring, plumbing, and painting have been fixed, and protective grills for corridors, windows, and public areas have been installed. New playground equipment and benches have also been installed. We pay for the water and electricity.

Throughout the school year, we employ experienced part-time tutors. We also host after-school events to make learning more fun. An outside group of experts has been hired to regularly test the students' knowledge and education levels and make any changes to the curriculum that are needed. A group of four people has been put together to keep an eye on how the school is doing in these areas. We have now taken on the role of knowledge provider by adopting a school in need. This way, we can help kids who don't have much.

Offering medical transportation in times of crisis

In order to better serve the local community in the vicinity of HITEX, we purchased a brand new, fully equipped ambulance. On November 11, 2017, GHMC Mayor Shri. Bonthu Rammohan officially launched the project. Through this programme, which is being fully funded and managed by HITEX, we hope to provide patients in need of emergency transportation with prompt, courteous assistance.
